Meet Peanut
Peanut is a 10-year-old retired sled dog with a big personality and an even bigger voice—she has a wonderfully unique howl, thanks to her mix of Siberian Husky and Alaskan Husky roots. Born and raised right here in Willow, Alaska, she’s the half-sister of Cashew, and together they make up part of the adorable “nut” litter. Peanut spent her working years running mid-distance races (150–300 miles) with her previous musher, Jessi Downey of Aimaagvik Kennel. Both she and Cashew were exceptional leaders on the trail, but these days, they much prefer shorter tour runs, free-roaming adventures, and the simple joy of just being dogs. Peanut and Cashew are a bonded pair and will only be adopted out together—they’ve never been apart and share a lifelong connection. At night, they cozy up indoors with their loving caretaker, Darlett, and during the day, they enjoy hanging out in the dog yard with their buddies. Peanut is a sweet, soulful girl who’s ready for a peaceful, love-filled retirement—alongside her best friend and sister.
