Meet Tag – The Perfect Adventure Buddy & Cuddle Companion!
Tag (aka the sled dog formerly known as Kaltag) is a 10-year-old retired sled dog looking for a loving home where he can enjoy both adventure and relaxation. He still loves to run and be active but prefers shorter outings these days, making him a great match for someone who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, skijoring, or leisurely walks. Tag is also an incredibly affectionate dog—he loves people and is always ready for cuddles and attention. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, so he’d be a great addition to a home with another pup. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, and active companion who will also happily snuggle up at the end of the day, Tag could be your perfect match!
Fun Facts About Tag:
- He refuses to sleep in his dog house, which has led to Tag becoming quite spoiled. Tag sleeps indoors and gets fresh straw laid in his circle EVERY DAY. He is very well behaved in the house.
- Tag originally came from Mike Santo’s Kennel in Cantwell, AK with his sister Kiddo (who was adopted and now lives in Wisconsin on a lake). They were from a “letter K” themed litter which because Tag’s birth name is Kaltag.
- Tag was purchased by his previous owner with high hopes of him becoming a leader. While he enjoys leading for skijoring or bikejoring, Tag has always been a bit nervous when he’s leading a team. Luckily his sister Kiddo became an excellent leader, so Tag could run in a less “stressful” position.
- Tag has earned the title “Most annoying dog” in the dogyard because of his enthusiasm for affection. He will relentlessly demand his caretaker to pet him and give him attention if they are anywhere near him in the dogyard (especially when they are trying to scoop poop.)
- Finally Tag’s signature move (that he has done to hundreds of tour guests through his life) is to stick his head in between our guests legs and itch this face on the inside of your knees after a dog run. If you have taken a tour with Tag, you have probably experienced this.
